building blocks 0-5 committee

The Powell River Building Blocks 0 - 5 Committee is one of three standing committees of the Powell River Child & Youth Inter-Services Management Team. Membership is open to representatives of organizations that provide support and/or services for the 0-5 population and/or their families. Building Blocks 0 - 5 Committee members include early childhood development, health and education professionals who are working directly with children and families or managing individual programs.

The purposes of Powell River Building Blocks 0-5 Committee are:

• Develop an inventory/database of services for the 0-5 population and their families.
• Identify and prioritize gaps in these services.
• Develop an integrated action plan for the 0-5 population and their families, facilitate its implementation and review results.
• Support local community development initiatives that compliment the committee's purpose (e.g. SB6, UEY-SC, ROE) and/or projects that address gaps in service (e.g. Ages & Stages).
• Share information about activities and services.

Building Blocks 0 - 5 has hosted an annual “Ages and Stages Fun Day” for children and families in Powell River for the past several years.  The group meets monthly except in the summer. For more information contact info@earlyyearscoast.org .
